In order to empower the People of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), Pakistan, through seamless access to accurate information and reliable services by means of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) applications; and to establish a knowledge-based economy, Gilgit-Baltistan Government has established Information Technology (IT) Department on 21st June 2021.

IT Department GB will play a pivotal role for creation of an enabling environment through formulation and implementation of policies and legal frameworks; providing Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructures for enhancing productivity; facilitating good governance; improving delivery of public services and contributing towards the overall socio economic growth of the region as well as the country.
