Special Technology Zone Authority (STZA) has been established by the Government of Pakistan under an Act of Parliament to provide institutional and legislative support for the technology sector with internationally competitive and export-oriented structures and eco-systems, to attract foreign direct investment, develop collaboration and ecosystem connecting academia, research and technology industry.
Government of Gilgit-Baltistan ( GB) has principally agreed to establish Special Technology Zones in all three divisions of GB.
In this regard a joint working group comprising of members from GB government and STZA is also be notified to work on fast track to establish these Zones in GB.
